The Frenchie, Built to Last

The Frenchie is one of the most effective nymphing patterns ever developed — a bead head pheasant tail variation with a bright hotspot collar that trout simply can't ignore. This version keeps everything that makes the original deadly and upgrades the two components most likely to fall apart after a few fish: the tail and the body. The result is a Frenchie that fishes just as well as the classic, and holds up significantly longer.

What's in the Pattern

• CDL tail — replaces the traditional pheasant tail fibers with Coq de Leon, offering superior durability and a clean, tapered profile that holds its shape through repeated strikes and fish
• Synthetic body — replaces the pheasant tail body with a tough, consistent synthetic material that won't unravel or fade, maintaining the fly's profile cast after cast
