The Black Spectra means business. Black UV dubbing, black nickel bead, black CDC collar — this fly is committed to the bit. And then, just when the trout thinks it's seen it all, there's a pink hotspot tag at the tail that changes the whole conversation.

What's in the Pattern

• Hook - Firehole Sicks 633 barbless
• Black UV dubbing body — dark and stealthy on the surface, surprisingly alive with light underwater
• Black nickel bead — sinks fast, looks sharp, doesn't draw attention to itself (unlike the tail)
• Black CDC collar — soft, breathing fibers that move with every micro-current
• Pink hotspot tag tail — one small flash of color that does a disproportionate amount of work

When to Reach for It

The Black Spectra shines in clear water and on pressured fish, where a subtle profile matters but a little provocation still helps close the deal. Euro nymph it, drop it off a dry, or swing it through a slow tailout. Available in sizes 12–18.
