Duracell Nymph
Built to last and wired to produce, the Duracell Nymph is the fly that keeps going when everything else has quit. Tied on a Firehole Outdoors 516 barbless jig hook with a tungsten bead, it sinks fast, fishes true, and holds up through the kind of session that would destroy lesser patterns.
The purple body and red ribbed wire give this version a segmented, lifelike profile that trout key in on — the wire rib adds flash and structure that mimics the natural segmentation of midge larvae and small nymphs. Purple is a proven subsurface color that holds visibility in a wide range of water clarity, from gin-clear tailwaters to off-color freestone runs. A red hotspot collar just behind the bead adds a concentrated burst of color that triggers strikes, imitating the gill or thorax detail that trout zero in on.
Dead-drift it through a riffle, swing it through a tailout, or drop it as a point fly below a bigger nymph. However you fish it, the Duracell keeps producing long after the other flies in your box have gone quiet.
